The 31 Day Challenge Starts Today!

*Edited to add what I'm reading for the 31 day Challenge and other reading plans*

Today is day #1 of the 31 Day Challenge. If you don't know what I'm talking about read about it HERE and I hope that you consider doing it with me!

When my alarm clock when off earlier than normal today I really did not want to get out of my bed but I did because I want to do what I told you I was going to do. If I hadn't wrote about this challenge on my blog I know that I wouldn't have got out of bed early!

Reading your bible, praying, and being a follower of Jesus means that you have to make sacrifices. In North America we have it pretty easy. If you were to compare our way of living, freedom of speech, and the easy accessibility to Christianity we have to other places in the world, such as third world countries or communist countries, you would see just how blessed we are. If we really have it this easy then getting up early and setting aside time to read and pray shouldn't be a big deal. It's a very small sacrifice compared to what other Christians might have to do elsewhere in the world.

There's a new NBA star by the name of Jeremy Lin that's been getting a lot of attention. He seemed to come out of no where and is now playing for the New York Knicks and is blowing everyone away. I don't follow basketball but his story is amazing and it's worth reading! Go HERE to read it!

What I'm Reading for the 31 Days
I personally like to read random books of the bible from beginning to end. That's just me.
I'm planning on reading at least two chapters a day, if I can read more then great and if not that's ok too.
Today I started reading the book of Acts, and when I'm done that I think that I'm going to move on to the book of Romans.

Different Reading Options can be:
Following a Daily Devotional - go HERE for a great daily online one from Joyce Meyer
Reading select books (like me)
Reading a Psalm or two a day
Following a reading plan - go HERE for various reading plans by Zondervan

How did everyone else do with Day #1?
What time of the day are you setting aside to read and pray?

Day 1, read in the Old Testament chapter 1, 2 and half of 3 before falling asleep on the couch. My son decided to take an early nap so I thought I'd start the challenge. Woke up to crying and decided to have a coffee and finish the third chapter. Guess I shouldn't have started in Numbers.

I read todays bible reading from Bible Gateway Mark 7 and Numbers 22. I am trying to read when my daughter is in her room after lunch for quiet time. I may need to start getting up earlier in the morning though. Might be easier as she does not always nap, so I tend to get distracted. Glad that you are here with all of us doing this challenge.
