Beautiful and Bald Barbie Petition

Childhood cancer isn't right. Children are so innocent and yet there are so many children being diagnosed with cancer every single day. According to Childhood Cancer Canada there are 10,000 children living with cancer in Canada right now. That's one too many children.

With cancer comes chemotherapy. With chemotherapy comes hair loss.

Tonight I came across a facebook group called Beautiful and Bald Barbie that is raising awareness and petitioning with Mattel in order to have a bald barbie created. I honestly think that this is an amazing idea. Every child should have a toy that is like them and that they are able to relate to. Barbie has been around for over 50 years and has had many, many, many themes, outfits and hair styles. Why not add the 'Beautiful and Bald Barbie' to the collection?

This barbie would give girls a toy that is like them. But, think of how many other children it would educate and hopefully help reduce some of the stares and questions about being bald.

My husband lost all of his hair during his chemo treatments and was bald for our wedding. My son, Bronson, lost all of his hair after chemo, and although he was only 5 days old when he started chemo (and a lot of babies are born bald anyways) it was still hard to watch the little hair he did have, fall out.

Bronson, 10 days old, losing his hair
 from chemo.
We might not be able to stop hair loss caused by treatments, but by having a Barbie like this would make a lot of little girls (and grown ones too!) pretty happy!

Please, help with this cause and sign THIS PETITION asking Mattel to manufacture a Bald Barbie.
